According to Realtor contributions to Remodeling magazine's 20th annual "Cost vs. Value Report" home remodeling projects that recover 80% or more of their cost, kitchen remodels was the only interior project with a cost recovery of 83%. The remaining projects in this catagory were exterior projects.

The big hitters were;

Upscale sideing replacement using fiber cement products at 88%

A wood deck addition at 85%

Repalcement windows at 81%

Midrange vinyl siding replacement at 83%
