Thank Goodness that "ActiveRain Guy" Kept Calling!
It was back in 2009 that I stumbled on the ActiveRain website. Like many newbies, I joined with a basic user profile. I would have happily stayed right at that level too, except that pesky "ActiveRain guy" kept calling me.
I don't know about you, but I've got more tricks than a rodeo pony when it comes to avoiding people trying to sell me something. I assumed the "ActiveRain guy" was trying to sell me something, and I was just never in front of my computer when he called.
But bless his heart, he kept calling. I want to say his name was Garrith, but I'm not sure. What I am sure of is that he is getting a big hug if I ever see him in person.
You see, his phone call changed my career and my life. He helped me set up my profile, and explained to me the basics of how ActiveRain works. He explained all the benefits of upgrading to a Rainmaker account. He also told me about ActiveRain University, which led to my first webinar. That first webinar really opened my eyes to the power of blogging and the world of e-learning via webinars. I was amazed at all the free education that was available for anyone who cared to learn more.
Since then, I've been through more webinars than I can count. I've built a online presence that I'm proud of, and one that really brings in traffic to my website. I've learned tons of new programs and marketing skills that make me a better agent. In fact, it's pretty hard for a competitor to touch my marketing skills at this point.
Now I'm even learning to build my own additional websites. That's pretty amazing for someone who didn't even know what a blog was 3 years ago!
Today, I completed the NAR E-Pro program and became an officially certified E-Pro.
The point is that I would probably never have done any of these things if it weren't for that "ActiveRain guy" who kept calling. He was the little white rabbit who guided me into Wonderland.
And so my dear Newbies, if that "ActiveRain guy" is calling you, count your blessings and take his call!
His phone call is opportunity knocking.
