Who's Your "A-Team?"

Do You Have An “A-Team”??

In the book  A Referral Of A Lifetime there was an amazing exercise that required the reader to write down the names of everyone they knew. Yes, everyone.

These people could be friends, family, neighbors, church members, customers, suppliers, and even on-line friends. Once that was accomplished, the reader was then asked to separate these contacts into A’s, B’s and C’s. The purpose of this was to identify the “A’s”, or the people who most strongly influence who you are and how you succeed. They are people you consider your cheerleaders or the people most likely to support you in anything you do.

So go ahead and make that list. Got your A-team? Great. Now reach out to them. Write them a letter, shoot them an email, or better yet-take them to lunch.  Take a moment to give them a big THANKS for always being supportive and being a great friend. The valued connections you have today are the currency of tomorrow.

Great topic and one which will help us all succeed. I'm going to write down my A-list right now. Thanks for sharing.

I definitely have an A Team.  They are in a spreadsheet as well.  Although I will confess to being so spun last week that I forgot I'd created the spreadsheet.

I love this post Jamie. This is exactly what I encourage our customers to do at IXACT Contact. One you have your A, B, and C lists, you can use your contact management system to send out personalized mass emails to each group and set them up on a drip email campaign! And instead of writing them a letter or calling them and then forgetting about them a year later, you can set automatic reminders in your contact management system and constantly be "top of mind."
