Late Night at the DMA! Dallas, Texas

Late Night at the DMA tonight!  The weather is beautiful, so it is the perfect night to spend in the Dallas Arts District with your entire family.

The Nasher Sculpture Center and the Crow Collection of Asian Art will also join the fun.

6 PM until Midnight

You will receive free admission, to the DMA, if you are a member.  That makes tonight the perfect time to join the Museum!

If you are not a member, you can receive 20% off your membership, if you warble a tune at the DMA's "Late Night Karaoke!" Check with the museum for details.

Note: "Youth and Beauty" may require a separate paid ticket for admission.

• The Pop Band Calhoun, from Ft. Worth will be playing at the DMA this evening.
• Arturo's Nest is the place to be for kids activities, beginning at 6 PM.
• Enjoy the "Youth and Beauty Exhibit" this evening.  There are more than 130pieces of art in the exhibit, including sculpture, painting and photography.  The works provide a visual history of the 1920s through the eyes of the artists. There is something for every art lover in this exhibit.  My personal favorites were the Edward Hopper paintings. Come and discover your own personal favorites and enjoy a glimpse into the 20s!

Nasher Sculpture Center

• 7:00 PM  The Emerald City Band, touted as the "Best Band in Dallas" will be playing at the Nasher beginning at 7 PM.
• 9:00 PM   The Academy Award winning film, Hugo, will be shown in two locations.  The 3D version will be shown in the garden. Be there early as the number of 3D glasses are limited. The regular version of the film will be shown in Nasher Hall.

Admission is free at the Nasher Sculpture Center.

Crow Collection of Asian Art

• You will be able to tour two current exhibitions:  David Gibson, "Toward Kasuga Shrine Along Pathways of Lanterns" and  "Word Spirit: Calligraphy Paintings and Photographs," by Chaco Terada.
• While you are at the Crow you can participate in a class to learn how to take better photos  and be entertained by Japanese performances.

Admission is free at the Crow Collection.

Parking is available in the DMA Garage and the Crow Center Garage. Due to area construction, I recommend coming early and bringing an extra dose of patience.  The evening will be worth the parking search.
