The Music Man Jr.

A condensed, kid-friendly version of the original musical, which centers on the life and traveling con artist Harold Hill, who poses as a band organizer and falsely sells instruments and uniforms before leaving without delivery. Tickets: $8.00. Call 847-256-9686 or visit wilmettepark.org

Animal Instinct

Animal Instinct is the Village Follies’ annual variety show, an original production whose purpose is to raise funds for the Winnetka Comunity House. Tickets: $20. Go here to purchase.

Comedy at the Mette

March 17 at 9:00 pm
Wilmette Theatre, 1122 Central Ave., Wilmette
A critically acclaimed monthly stand-up comedy series headlined this week by Adam Burke, joined by Chicagoan Matty Burke. Adam Burke, who grew up in Northern Ireland, was named one of the best comedians in Chicago by comedy.com and is regularly featured at comedy hotspots around the country. Tickets: $12.
Must be 21 or over to attend.

Third Sunday String Band

March 18 at 2:00 pm
Wilmette Public Library, 1242 Wilmette Ave., Wilmette

A group of eight Chicago area musicians will play and sing Appalachian and Irish fiddle tunes, plus folk and pop. The ensemble includes Wilmettans Stu Hertzberg on guitar and Mike Collins on bass.
