The New Orleans Saints have signed kicker Martin Gramatica after placing Olindo Mare on injured reserve on Wednesday.
Mare suffered a dislocated hip while attempting to make a tackle on a kick-off return during Monday night's 34-14 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
An 11-year veteran in his first season with the Saints, Mare has connected on just 10-of-17 field goal attempts.
Gramatica played with both the Dallas Cowboys and Indianapolis Colts in 2006, converting 7-of-9 attempts.
However, he was out of football during the 2005 season after making just 11-of-19 field goals for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
