Luxury Real Estate Marketing: Happy St Patrick's Day Syrah Style from Santa Barbara

Irish Cheddar Cheese

We may not be Irish, however, we like to celebrate it all.  I found the Irish cheddar cheese at our local Trader Joe's in Santa Barbara pictured above, which is soaked in Syrah wine.  I know one would expect beer or whiskey to be involved, so this one threw us for a loop.  So of course, we had to buy it, and we can assure you, it is a wonderful tasting cheese...we figure the leprechauns needed to be creative and innovative, and we are happy to say, they succeeded.

Happy St. Patrick's Day, Cheers Ron & Alexandra

Hi Alexandra, This is so picturesque and I am sure it is wonderful. When I saw your title I noticed the refernce to Syrah, thinking of wine. I love the Petit Syrahs but I don't eat a lot of cheese but I would try it just because of the Syrah flavoring.

Leave it to you guys to find such an exotic looking Irish cheese.    Who would've guessed it's a cheddar?  Not me!   Brian

Your photo of the cheese on that plate looks like a work of art! Let me know how it tastes. I've never heard of it before. I was thinking it was some candy bar and not cheese. I'm very curious  - report back later and tell us more about this discovery of yours!

I thought a marbled chocolate cheesecake, perhaps ... but a cheddar?  Wouldn't have guessed in a thousand years.  We have a Trader Joe's in town ... I will see if they carry it/still have any.

That sounds wonderful, Alexandra. And, no I would not have expected it. The leprechauns are probably trying out for the Food Network.

Only you two could find a great cheese in a great wine.  I will take your word for the fact that it was delicious.  But, perhaps, our Trader Joe's has a similar product.  I will check it out.  Thanks.

Endre,

We did not expect it either, and it is always fun to be surprised by people who go beyond their brand and create something new and distinctive.

William,

At first, I thought it was a piece of marbled cake or some other thing like it...then upon close examination it was a cheese in the cheese section.  You could taste a hint of the Syrah grape in it.   It was delicious and we enjoyed it, and we would buy it again.  We love Petite Syrah particularly the aroma and the color in a glass.  It is definitely a good wine with chocolate.

Brian,

It was delicious, and for cheddar we prefer the South Coast English Cheddar or the Vermont Cabot Cheddar...It is all good

John,

I love your addition of smoked turkey to the menu.  I agree with you and Debbie, cheese is a food group at our house, we often have a similar meal without the turkey, apples and or pears and a  glass of wine.  Here's a toast to the cheese group.

Patricia,

It was great, and you are right, it does look like a candy bar...

Angie,

I had the same reaction at first, and I would recommend it...we enjoyed it.

Toni,

That was such a funny comment on your part of the leprechauns trying out for food network.  If they did, we were the benefactors, we think.

Don,

We are always game to try something new.  My father used to say, "how do you know you don't like it, if you have not tried it?"  So I try everything, at least once.

Mitchell,

Thanks, yes it does look like chocolate.  Syrah is a very dark grape and Petite Syrah is even darker.

Marilyn,

I have seen pictures of green cheese, as of yet I have not encountered it to try it.

Happy Monday, A

Alexandra,

Syrah wine over cheese sounds better than beer to me.  Hope you enjoyed your day... g
