Back in January 2008, then State Sen. Ken Pruitt said the region is on a fast pace sprint to sign up companies for its bio-tech hub located in Tradition.  It's going to take about ten years to build what took 60 years to create in North Carolina.

Houses are selling and business are opening and more bio-tech companies coming to check out the area.  The Florida Center for Innovation at Tradition has landed some big deals.  Torry Pines Institute for Molecular Studies, Mann Research Center and Oregon Health & Science University's Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute are the first ones signed on.

I expected the Tradition real estate market to recover quicker.  "It took a bigger hit during the down turn but the end of 2008 should be good."

Well four years later, what has happened.  Well Digital Domain came, saw, built and in now hiring at a fast pace and Martin memorial just broke ground on the hospital.

Two builders are still building new homes in the area.  Rental rates have gone up and the inventory for sale is the lowest its been since Tradtion was started being built.

Good to see that new businesses are moving in.  Here in Orlando we have been trying to build a Medical City near the Orlando Airport.  It's been about 7 years and very slow going because of the economy but hopefully it will take off.
