Big game tomorrow! The Denver Broncos play the San Francisco 49ers with the opportunity to go to the playoffs. A win and their in. The Colorado Avalanche are on the fringe of being a good team. The Denver Nuggets just picked up Allen Iverson and the Rockies..... let's wait and see. The teams mentioned above are in Denver and all play at the highest levels of pro sports.
The heading of my post says Northern Colorado. Is Denver considered to be Northern Colorado? If you look at a map, maybe. I believe Northern Colorado starts just outside of Denver metro to the north, say Boulder north. Tonight I went to a Colorado Eagles game. An IHL hockey team that plays at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland. It was a great game. The score was tied at the end of regulation. About 2 minutes into the sudden death overtime, the Eagles scored the winning goal.
Another "minor league" team is scheduled to start this Spring. The Colorado Ice (arena football) will begin their inuagural season in early 2007. It's more than fair to say that Colorado is a sportmans paradise. All the pro team sports, the "minor league" teams, fishing, hunting, world class skiing, hiking, boating, golfing and just about everything else.
If you live for sports, Colorado should be on your list of places to check out. Let me be your tour guide.
