What factors are important to you as you plan where you're going to live. Is it convenience? Quality of schools? Safety? Commute times? Climate? Recreational opportunities? All of these factors combined to make a quality of life. I would add clean air, as well as other healthy environmental issues to the overall quality of life. There are many other factors, health care, cost of living, things like that. Everyone rates these items in order of importance. To some climate conditions are much more important than cost of living, to others it is just the opposite.
Cedar City From Cedar Mountain
The reason that I bring this up is that I was tooting our area's horn, again. I feel that is part of my job as a Realtor. Not only do I sell real estate, I sell the community, the entire community. Here in Cedar City we have a great climate, we enjoy all four seasons, in fact, between today and Monday will will experience Spring and Winter. That is one of our jokes here, this time of year, if you don't like the weather, it will probably be different by tomorrow!
Kanarraville, South of Cedar City
I will be honest, sometimes living in Cedar City isn't the most convenient, we don't have a lot of the stores that more metropolitan areas do, but our rush hour is about 2 lights long. As you can see, there are trade offs with what may or may not be convenient to you. We do have some nice local stores along with some of the chain retailers, with a few more retailers coming later this year.

We do have some great schools here in the Cedar City area, in fact, we have recently built 2 new elementary schools to keep up with the demand. We have a great University right here in town, Southern Utah University. It has outstanding programs in Education, The Arts, Nursing and others. We have not 1 but 2 Summer Dramatic Festivals, one of course features the plays of William Shakespeare and the other the plays of Neil Simon.
We have great Little League Baseball facilities for the youth, as well as soccer and we recently completed construction of the Aquatic Center, and Lake. These provide great opportunities for the community. We have been creating more and more walking trails in the city, and of course we are the Gateway to Utah's National Parks. Many within a few hours drive. Lake Powell is also but a few hours drive. We have great vistas and clean air, sure it can stagnate a little in the Winter, but usually only of a day or two before the wind blows it out! We are close to Brian Head Ski Resort, and we have a beautiful Golf Course.

We have a newer hospital, one that is adding more facilities to it's ability to assist in the treatment of Cancer. We are conveniently located almost at the midway point between Provo and Las Vegas. In all, I would glady boast that we do offer a magnificient Quality of Life, you should come up and see for yourself! While here, call Darcy or myself, we would love to earn your business!
