Taking a hot air balloon ride has been on my bucket list for a long time. I just never got around to it. That "Round ToIt" is elusive and my resolution this year is to take the time to find it.
My hot air balloon ride Round ToIt was accomplished on Friday when I, along with my husband and best friend "sister" floated over the Phoenix desert in a whirl of color.
Hot Air Expeditions was our host for a spectacular morning! We met our van at 6:30am and it transported us along with 11 other passengers to the launching site.
It was great fun watching the many hot air balloons come to life, like a Phoenix out of the ashes. How poetic!
Soon, we were floating along with trusty pilot, Captain Walter. It was magnificent.
The wind decided to add a little excitement as we veered just slightly off course for our landing...between the highway and a barbed wire fence. But not worries. Captain Walter had it all under control. If he hadn't, he would have taken us back up to land in a different spot. Hey~ it made it exciting!
A champagne toast and breakfast followed the landing along with the reciting of the Ballooner's Prayer ~
"The winds have welcomed you with softness.
The sun has blessed you with his warm hands.
You have flown wo well and so high,
that God has joined you in your laughter
and set you gently back again
into the loving arms of Mother Earth."
Another box checked off my Bucket List and another Round ToIt added to my collection.
