Out of context....

Seagulls are common along the gulf coast.  There are always lots of them around the galveston beaches.  Fun to watch as they soar and dive.

There was the huge drought experienced by the area last year to consider, however sighting a large number of gulls in a lightly trafficked parking lot this afternoon was a surprise

No logical explanation.  No fish, no water ( the lake is about thirty miles and the coast is about 80 miles) yet here they are.  They seemed to be settling into the space.  Guess this is an example of making the best of the space given!  Go gulls!

Seagulls are very resourceful birds Jeanne and Ralph. I feel sorry for them because many people despise them, but I find them to be admirably capable of adapting to their environments. I live in a waterside community, and you should see them flocking around the chip wagon.

You can buy chips (french fries), burgers, hot dogs, etc. I'm sure you have them down there, you probably call it by some other name though. They are seagull magnets.

Malcolm.  Yes I think they are called food trucks or maybe food carts around here.  I'll bet they do attract gulls. And I'll bet the folks who frequent them probably help out by tossing them snacks!!

Good morning Friends.

They probably had a feast and are resting...

They might be waiting for a food delivery to a local restaurant.

"I listen for a living." It's all about you.

I was in downtown Boston yesterday for a conference that went long.  I went running out to my car expecting a big ticket on my car ($50 fine here if you can believe that)  All I found was a seagull (Boston is right on the bay and I was in the seaport area of the city) and my friend had deposited many white mementoes of his stay all over the newly washed car.  I had a smile on my face as I drove off---I had missed the ticket and the car wash only costs $20.  I was up $30 bucks.

Jeanne & Ralph,  They are likely looking for food! Unfortunately, parking lots have a trash left behind from people ... and trash contains food!
