Wow! Mammoth Gator!!!!

Can you imagine walking out of your backdoor to find this laying in your backyard sunning itself?  This 28 foot 1 inch alligator was shot in the backyard of a home between Lakeland and Winter Haven Florida.  Florida has been known for it's gators but I don't think one of this size has ever been captured and killed until now.  Notice the game warden Joe Goff is 6' 5" tall walking beside this beast!  Makes you want to re-think swimming in lakes in Florida now doesn't it?

That's one honkin' big alligator. I cannot imagine running into an alligator anywhere.... let alone one's own backyard!

I think I saw this gator in a movie, "Lake Placid".  That's alot of good gator tail meat.

April, not that I would want him in my backyard, but I'm kind of sorry for this ole' gator.  He lived a long life and managed to stay out of the way of people and when he did, he met with his demise.
