Dyersburg,Tennessee has once again been chosen as one of the top micropolitan cities in the United States. I wrote an article a few years ago about Dyersburg being recognized but we did not rank nearly as high.
A micropolitan is a rural area where the largest city does not exceed 50,000 in population.
Here is an excerpt from the article ion todays State Gazette newspaper:
Dyersburg was one of eight micropolitans recognized in the top 100 in Tennessee and was the top micropolitan in west Tennessee. It was listed as second in the state of Tennessee, trailing only Columbia, Tenn., located in central Tennessee, approximately 45 miles south of Nashville. Humboldt was the only other west Tennessee micropolitan recognized in the top 100, placing 80th. It is not the first time that Dyersburg has made it on Site Selection magazine's list of top micropolitans, but it is the highest placement the city has received.
