Power Broker? Try Flower Broker...
Back in December I sold a really cute bungalow to a builder. The bungalow, I'm sorry to say, will be replaced with something rather large (I've got a soft spot for older homes). There's a bulldozer waiting in the front yard.
Recently I received a phone call from a neighbor "living near your recent listing on Chestnut". I like these kind of calls. So, I picked up the phone and called Elana back. I was expecting a few of the standard questions:
- what did the house sell for?
- How long did it take?
- If my house has an extra bedroom does that mean I'll get more for mine? etc..
Instead, I got:
- I would feel just awful if some of the plants on the property are destroyed when they raze the house... can I grab a few hydrangeas before they start digging?
So, off I go, tracking down the buyer, making phone calls, making it happen. It's not exactly productive, nor the best use of my crazy spring market time... but it will help out a neighbor and maybe, just maybe, they'll think of me when they do get around to selling their house. Sowing the seeds, one at a time.
