Giant Peep at Mall of America by Teri Eckholm REALTOR

Love em or hate em...Everyone has an opinion on Peeps! In my opinion they are barely edible but I have one son that loves them! We visited Mall of America in Bloomington this weekend and they have a new store devoted to the Peep. It's not just a candy store either...though there are Peeps and every flavor of Mike and Ike you can imagine! They also have socks, t-shirts and assorted Peep related gifts. I do have to admit, I kind of like the glowing giant Peep at the center of the store.

Hi Teri. Aren't these niche stores just fascinating? You found a great one focused starting with the Peep. Extremely cool photo.

Teri I love Peeps. I could have a field day there. I have never been to the Mall of America but someday. Thanks for sharing

Hmmmmmmm. I'm not sure I'm keen on peeps (but I've never tried one). Interesting shop and I wonder if it'll stick around after the holiday or if it'll replace itself.

We have a Peep store here as well.  It's always packed so there must be something more to the Peeps fad than meets the eye.

Eeeeew, I hate Peeps. Unlike my husband who not only loves them, but prefers to leave them out in the air for a day or two before eating them so they harden a bit.

I would like to see the peep store, though. I'm always intrigued by places like that (i.e. the Hershey store, M&M store, etc.)

I'm with you Teri.  I hate Peeps.  But hand me a chocolate easter bunny and some jelly beans and I'm happy as can be.  The Peep in your photo is huge, and a wonderful piece of art however!

Hi Teri, When I was kid, I loved these things. I notice that the day after Easter, the candy that is on sale has very few of these left over so someone must be eating them, LOL.

I also had to smile at Gary Woltal's "niche market" comment.  With so many of us hating Peeps, I think the company needs to worry that their niche market doesn't become a place to bury their ashes:-)

Hi All!

It is fun to know there are so many with strong feelings about Peeps candy! The wall of Mike & Ike flavors is pretty interesting...kind of like when Jelly Belly's has containers of all their flavors that you can buy by the bagful...mix and match.

@Lindsay The store is in Camp Snoopy Nickelodeon Universe by the just opened Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle ride. It took over the main Camp Snoopy Store so I think it is not just here for the Easter holiday. I have photos of the outside too. It has giant boxes of Hot Tamales and Mike & Ikes on the exterior. Pretty elaborate to be temporary. I think it was the grand opening as they had a PeepVW you could have a photo taken with and they were giving out free Peeps candy too...we got a bunch for our Peep lover!

@DeeDee Still too much marshmallow for mebut my son likes those too!
