Motivational Power Quote

A Business That’s Satisfied is on the Rocks

“I’ve felt that dissatisfactory is the basis of progress.

When we become satisfied in business we become obsolete.”

           J. Willard Marriott Sr. hotel executive

As I see it . . . . . . .

A business that’s satisfied is on the rocks

The business environment is shifting, business models are changing and the status quo will kill a business.

A business that is satisfied with their past performance is looking in the wrong direction. The business that is focus never ending improvement is focused on the future and meeting their customers’ demands.

A business can not solely relay on their reputation to remain relevant and profitable, they have to focus on the customer’s needs and improving to meet the market demands.

Customers don’t want to hear about what you use to be or what you did in the past, they want to know what you’ll going to do for them today.

The business landscape is littered with companies that were market leaders that became satisfied in their business models and collapsed within themselves.

We are in a time that offers enormous business opportunities for the businesses that adapts, adjusts and embrace never ending improvement. They will find themselves on the leading edge of change.

A business that’s satisfied is on the rocks and will not keep up or remain competitive.

Hi Lou--I couldn't agree more.  Having owned three companies I was always asking how can we do this better.  People always asked me why I wasn't "satisfied" and I always thought that would mean stagnation.

So very true Lou.  I have been a victim of my own success on a couple of occassions, becoming complacent with my business, and watched it go through a sustained period of contraction both times.  It's easy to do, but must be fought against. Thanks for sharing!
