Fran's Friday Forum...HUMAN NATURE Or FREE WILL...!!!

By
Title Insurance with Patriot Land Transfer, Inc.

I’m getting tired of the media and milktoast members of society attributing every mistake of mankind as an excusable result of HUMAN NATURE...!!!

These are the folks for which there are NO ABSOLUTES...Everything is relative, I’m OK you’re OK, The devil made me do it, everyone does it, yada, yada, yada...

I say God gave us a FREE WILL to do as we please and to make decisions as we please...with the corresponding consequences and accountabilities...

Yes, the four last things...DEATH, JUDGMENT, HEAVEN, & HELL...remind us of this...!!!

Absolute Justice demands absolute reckoning...

Anything short of that is a real distortion of TRUTH...WHY ???....Because I believe it...???

NO...NO...NO...Because God, by definition, insists upon it...!!!

Now, if you are among those relativists who lean towards atheism, agnosticism, or socialism...all of which believe that society itself apart from God can create a perfect existence...I have one thing to say...

Take your huMAN natURE...and look at the last three letters of each word and combine them.....M A N U R E...that’s what you get with any of those ISMS...!!!

Now...today many will gather around our Country to support an AMERICAN and CHRISTIAN ideal of RELIGIOUS AND PERSONAL FREEDOM...And PRAY...yes, PRAY that The God who supports us and has promised to not leave us orphaned, will hear our prayer and lead our Country to a place of refreshment, reconciliation, revival, renewal, reconstruction, and REALITY...

The answers to ALL of our present societal, economic, and moral dilemmas are accessible, available, and achievable...They are merely awaiting the right PEOPLE OF FAITH to tap into them...

Our present leaders are NOT getting it...We need new ones to complement THE PEOPLE OF FAITH we’ve already elected to accomplish these solutions...OF COURSE WITH GOD’S HELP...!!!

Because of work and family obligations, I regrettably will not be able to personally attend the events of this Friday, but rest assured my thoughts and prayers will be with those who gather for such a NOBLE CAUSE...GOD BLESS THEM and GOD BLESS THESE UNITED STATES...!!!

Have a great weekend...!!!

I find it interesting that you've conflated atheism and socialism...are there not democratic atheists?

Fran:  You bring up some interesting concepts.  I believe man is not perfect.  Man will make decisions which are contrary to God's will.  I also believe that if you ask God to forgive you and are truly sorry for those miss steps you will not be penalized.  Perhaps I'm not getting it, but I believe God is a merciful God.

What is difficult for me to grasp is when a priest told me even Ted Bundy could go to heaven.  The thought of a truly evil and twisted person being forgiven, and a thief being cast into hell just does not compute.

Bonnie,

Excellent comment...!!!

It may be hard to believe, but the Catholic Church has never identified anyone as being certainly condemned to hell...including such evildoers as Judas, Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, etc...

It 'canonizes' saints, but it leaves the destiny of public sinners to God's Mercy, Justice, and Judgment.

The Church believes in 'death bed' conversions and ultimately it confides in God's Great Mercy...!!! Thus, the Good News is proclaimed to ALL the living who repent from their heart...!!! Remember, in heaven God has 'many mansions'...!!!

Thanks,   Fran

Theology discussions are always fun...the classic conundrum faced by non-Christians on the 'death bed' conversion is this: "Hitler accepts JC into his life as his savior, he goes to heaven.  Gandhi doesn't, he goes to hell."  That's the basic problem for non-believers...in a nut-shell.

Karl,

The problem is we 'mortals' can toss around suggestions and ideas such as yours, aiming for perfect justice to be meted out, but perfect justice can only be meted out by a Perfect Creator and a God of Love...!!! We live 50, 70, 100 years...eternity is forever...and who knows what is in store to effectuate perfect justice in that milieu...!!!

My 'mortal' imperfect mind would put Hitler in Hell and Gandhi in Heaven...BUT...

As for me, I prefer to trust in God's infinite Mercy and Love...!!!

Thanks,   Fran

All I can say about this discussion is that in order to have the peace that surpasses all understanding, we must first give up all rights to understanding. ... Trust God with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Fran you have got to go see OctoberBaby in the theatres now.

Bob & Bonnie,

I have that on my list to see...!!! I've heard it's very good...!!!

In our Creed we say, "...I believe in all that is visible and invisible...".  Truth be known, there is plenty more 'invisible' to believe than that which meets the eye...!!! How can we but TRUST in The Lord...!!!

Thanks,   Fran

I'm curious, Fran... do you tell your non-believing customers that they are manure or say anything similar to what you've written in your post?

Melanie Dawn,

I don't question the beliefs of my customers. I respect their right to believe as they wish...!!! People aren't 'manure', some ideologies are...!!!

Thanks,   Fran

I actually had commented on your blog earlier and I guess that is how she ended up on my Devotional posts. My guess is she is one of those that chooses to be offended by Christians or if we talk about our faith. I love the way she put devotional in quotes.

Based on her last sentence I would also guess she is an atheist, which is her choice her right. Again, I would bet if you talk about religion around her she feels attacked and doesn't want to hear it.

I used to have great discussions with an avowed atheist while I was building his home. He made fun of my "Sky Daddy" (his term) and I made fun of his belief that everything just formed on its own.

Than:  I honestly do not have any clue who the people you speak of... are... but I myself have never, ever known anyone who would have a problem or be offended by Christians who talk about their faith.

How can anyone expect to have their own beliefs respected if they make fun of the beliefs of another.  I reserve the right to believe differently, but not to belittle someone else's beliefs.

The one thing I do not care for... is when someone has a set of beliefs, and then demands everyone should live their lives according to that person's set of beliefs.  That is when we start getting a little too close to being a Theocracy.

Also... in your comment... who IS this person you speak of.  I looked again at all the comments on this post, and do not see the things you are referring to.  So, who IS this person ?  Just curious.

Karen Anne,

I'm glad you stopped by so I could wish you a Happy Easter...!!!

Let me explain...Melanie Dawn left a comment above which made me curious...so I went back to see some of her other comments and landed on Than's blog...!!!

What irritated me was her accusation that I referred to others as 'manure', when I clearly was referring to some ideologies that some hold...not the people themselves...get it...???

Just as you hold fast to your opinions, so do I...If neither of us firmly believed we were right, we wouldn't be as vocal as we are to defend our beliefs...That is our right, and in expressing our beliefs is the way we get at Ultimate Truth...which no ONE PERSON holds a monopoly on...!!!

Like I said...Happy Easter...!!!

Thanks,   Fran

P.S. BTW, I firmly believe God's hand spared many yesterday in those DFW tornadoes...!!!

Than,

I didn't mean to jump over your comment to Karen Anne...I apologize...!!!

I think your devotional was great...!!! Spreading the Word is our job description...it is not an option...!!! There is an apparent thirst for The Word, otherwise the world wouldn't be in such bad shape...!!!

A truly Christian society would be evidenced by people's love for one another, not rampant evil and sinful lifestyles...!!!

Again...Happy Easter, my friend...!!!

Thanks,   Fran

We are no where near a Theology. But from listen to the MSM you would think that electing Romney or Santorum would turn us into one. It was okay for Obama to be a Christian and attend church...the MSM even talked about what a great Christian he was. I guess, since Obama never talks about his faith, unless it was to say, "I am a Christian, send me money.", that is an okay religious person.

Makes you wonder why so many have no problem with Sharia law being applied in the US and other countries. Talk about a Theocracy!

Sorry, Fran. I guess I got a little of topic. ;-)

Anyway...Happy Easter!

Than... I am guessing that in your first sentence you meant Theocracy instead of Theology.  Anyway...

A Theocracy... whether based on the religious beliefs of a Muslim or a Christian... take their beliefs... which they are free to believe... and turns them into laws... which they then REQUIRE everyone else to obey.

I have a major problem with Shari'a Law... just as I have a major problem with religious zealots like Mr Santorum turning his beliefs... which he has every right to believe... and turn them into law, and then expect everyone in the country to follow those laws.  THAT... is a Theocracy.

Why can't you see that ?  So much of what is going on in the State Legislatures... and Oklahoma is one of them... takes the beliefs of some christians, and turns them into laws.  Again, I respect your right to believe whatever you want... just do not try and force it upon others.  Again... THAT... is a Theocracy.

But what is almost comical about Oklahoma and other states doing that... is that the more your state and others "over-reach"... the more you push moderate Republicans, main-stream Independents, and Conservative Democrats into insuring that President Obama will be re-elected.

Than,

I just read that in Bangladesh, where Muslim is the state religion, a former Imam has converted to Catholicism, and is being harrassed, ignored, and persecuted by some of his former adherents, family members, and fellow citizens...The only thing keeping him alive is that Bangladesh doesn't subscribe to Sharia law because it has a Religious Freedom Toleration clause in its constitution...!!!

BTW, you're welcome to vent on my blog anytime...!!! Happy Easter...!!!

Thanks,   Fran

Karen Anne,

So you don't believe Rick Santorum when he says he has no thoughts of outlawing contraception in this Country...As a 'practicing Catholic' however, he reserves the right to not have the government mandate that health care must include contraception...FOR EVERYONE...

Talk about a THEOCRACY...We're headed for a real one right here in America...and the religion is called SECULAR HUMANISM...!!!

King Obama doesn't like it when States opt out of federal programs because its citizens don't agree with his liberal ideologies...

What has become of PERSONAL FREEDOM, RELIGIOUS FREEDOM in America...??? You liberals want the fed to stay out of your bedrooms...I want the fed to stay out of my Churches...and MY CONSCIENCE...!!!

Happy Easter...!!!

Thanks,   Fran
