Sun City Mesquite is having their much anticipated Spring Community Garage Sale - Saturday March 24 - look for the signs, beginning at 7:00 AM.  With over 700 homes in this active adult community for 55 + residents, expect a good selection of furniture, decor, appliances, clothes and even a very cool 2001 Honda S2000 convertible sports car for sale - :)

Residents of Sun City Mesquite come from all over the U.S. and Canada, so you will see a wide variety of good stuff.  Last year, we had the same great weather that we have going on right now - people arrived early to see where the garage sales were located and plan their strategy to get to as many as possible in the shortest times.

One very smart young man pulled up in a pick up truck, unloaded his golf cart, and zipped around spotting some prize items.  He then called his brother in the truck to come pick them up.  The early bird gets the worm, right?

Yes the early bird does get the worm.  I like the idea of taking a golf cart.

Hey Virginia - due to the way this board has been operating, I figured I'd be lookng at a re-blog of your work.  I just 're-blogged' my co-worker's Blof, mostly becuase he's nuts.   Either way, here are my quick thoughts when I just looked at your great blog:

1)  When my wife and I were 26 years old and we found out twins were on the way, a good (85 year old) friend told us to take a vacation out west and relax because we would never be able to do it again.  She was soooooooooooooooo right.  So, we went to Phoenix and drove to amazing red rocks of Sedona, the big huge hole in the ground, the Hoover Dam and Las Vegas.  Vegas made me sick at the time, (but I've learned to love it after having 3 kids and realizing that 2 days in vegas is about as much Hedonistic fun as I'll see in the next 8 years!)

==  THE REST IS MUCH MORE BASIC == .

2) It is so beautiful out in the southwest.  I grew up groing to South Dakota and Wyoming when I was a kid.  It was nice, but it is much more beautful where you are.

3)  Long Island is butt-ugly!  - I've spent the overwhelming majority of my 41 years here, but I've been to 40 states and 15 countries or so.  The most beautiful places to be include:

1) near el cortecito, Punta Cana, DR

2) LongBoat Key, FL

3)  Sedona

4-1,000) any beach with Palms and water temp over 79 degrees all year round and where it is cheap and safe!

Tim - I wish I had a golf cart - in fact, we are going tomorrow to look for one, and for a set of golf clubs for a practice set.  :)

David - regarding your co worker being nuts:  it takes one to know one.  :)

1)  - How did you miss Mesquite on your trip?  Not sure that it would give Sedona a run for the money, but we do have some amazing scenery, golf courses mixed with desert.  And a usually trickling river, unless it is flood season, and then it is very beautiful in a deadly kind of way.   St George, Utah and surrounding area - 35 miles from Mesquite and has the most beautiful high desert mountain scenery that I have ever seen - Zion is nearby, and then the Grand Canyon, pretty amazing stuff.

2)  - I was born in South Dakota, but I really don't remember.  Grew up in California, home of some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.  I think.  I don't get out much.

3)  - Long Island looks pretty butt-ugly on TV, but that is the closest I have ever been to it.  It looks like it smells bad - I hope we are not offending any Long Islanders as we speak.

  1), 2), and 3) - never been there.

  4)  There are some gorgeous beaches on the Gulf Coast of Alabama, pretty cheap, I think they are safe, unless it is hurricane weather.  Also some good garage sales, believe it or not, and an artist colony.  But ..... If I had a lot of money and didn't need to work, I would live right on any of the California beaches - I would just need a little shack, but I cannot afford even that!

Praful - I am buying, not sellling.  I did the sale part last year.  So much more fun to be the consumer at a garage sale.

Hi Richard - I see you are very busy on your Google + page.  With any luck, I will find a golf cart at the first stop and use it for the rest of the garage sales tomorrow.  I always buy something.
