Bike Fest 2012 Tucson officially kicks off in Tucson today! The event goes on through Sunday, April 22nd and leads right into the Tour of The Tucson Mountains Bike Event on Saturday, April 28th - sponsored by PBAA – or better known as the El Tour De Tucson folks!
Here are the events this weekend for Bike Fest 2012:
GABA Sonoita to Bisbee Spring Bike Tour – a two day event Saturday and Sunday (March 24 and 25th). This is for the fit rider since the course takes you along Hwy 82, through rolling grassland country and the lofty Huachuca Mountains. The event is hosted by the Greater Arizona Bicycling Association (GABA) – as with all GABA events, it’s a fully supported ride for cyclists – and if you want to come along but not ride, shuttles will be available for you to enjoy the views and visit the quaint old mining town of Bisbee.
Bikes and Tykes Expo Downtown Tucson – Sunday March 25th at 11am. This is a free event held at the Mercado San Agustin designed to inspire cycling with your entire family – from babies on up! There will be family friendly urban commuters on hand showing off their favorite gear. They will also be available for questions, demonstrations, discussions on safety, the best routes and trails to travel when you have a little Tyke in tow, and more.
