Yes, every Spring Break many people head for the beach. South Padre Island in Texas is filled with teenagers and young people from all parts of the state and country. I've been there many times when the roads were bumper to bumper traffic. It takes hours to get across the causeway. Of course, Florida and Mexico are also favorite Spring Break destinations.
Sunny beaches, Spring time weather, good times with lots of friends. This year I too, went to the beach. Only it was not the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic I visited. It was the Pacific Ocean. It was not always sunny either. Lots of rain and snow was in the forecast.
It was so cold with the wind coming off the water. It was also very beautiful. This is Ruby Beach. Look how the water has eroded the land. This took many years but once the land was where the little hills are in the background. Makes for a beautiful scene.
I love visiting new places. Snow tubing down a mountain was the greatest. I really enjoyed that. So different from tubing down the beautiful Hill Country rivers here in Texas. Not so peaceful but exciting and fun!
Building a snowman was fun.
His carrot nose is in danger here :)
Even the dog likes running and playing in the snow.
This was the time right before the big storm that left about 8-10 feet of more snow in the mountains. I saw houses and buildings completely covered with snow with only a little trail to the front door open to view. I could not live like this. It takes hearty people to endure the hardships that this kind of weather brings. Visiting for a few days and playing is an entirely different thing. Glad I sell real estate in a warm sunny location!
