Like It Or Not - You're a Worldwide Business
Global has become the mainstay of our business today. The CIPS designation and membership of various outher global groups, FIABCI, ICREA. GLOZAL etc, are the lynchpins of doing international business. English however, remains the language of business worldwide, but if you have the ability to translate your website, it does work wonders for those not comfortable with English to start a relationship. And that is the next KEY to international success. Building a relationship, before even thinking about doing business.
Jim is right, we the world is getting smaller, and determined to own a piece of American Pie. So you'd better get with the idea of going global or be left behind.
Whether you understand the Czech language or not, you are doing business in Czechoslovakia. And, even if you don't speak Chinese, you're being watched in Hong Kong. It's not called the World Wide Web for nothing.
No, this isn't a post about learning two dozen languages so that you can sell houses to people from around the world. However, it is about your website and how they are already checking you out without your knowledge unless you're paying attention. Two translators on a ship are talking.
"Can you swim?" asks one.
"No" says the other, "but I can shout for help in nine languages."Can you describe your latest listing in nine different languages, or perhaps in three dozen? Don't think it's a big deal? It may not be, but here is a portion of the location demographic data for a short time on one of my websites:
There were a whole lot more single visit results in this Google Analytics report, but these are enough to show us that my real estate site is being viewed around the world, and a couple of other interesting points as well. Notice that my average pages per visit for U.S. visitors is 4.02. Check out Austria and the Czech Republic. They apparently are checking out the same number of average pages/visit...high level of interest maybe? Then check out Hong Kong. With 6 pages per visit, I'll have to assume there is some interest in my area's real estate market in Hong Kong.I'm sure that many of these visitors speak English, but they don't need to. My site offers a transation utility that puts the site into their native language with the click of a mouse. RealtySoft offers a very effective and accurate translation utility.
This is only a partial screen shot of the many languages you can elect to be offered in your RealtySoft site's Translation Widget. Position the widget on your home page, every page, or selected pages as desired. Then go out and take a language course, as you may need it!
