Certified Investor Agent Specialist™
After signing up for a (CIAS™) designation course, I promptly ripped off part of my right eyeball, leaving me temporarily blind in that eye. (It’s a long story.)
I wore an eye patch for some time. It was sort of a “chick magnet,” but, since I have been happily married for nearly 50 years… it wasn’t that useful.
Actually though, while wearing the eye patch, I looked sort of cool: like Johnny Depp. Unfortunately, no Hollywood agents “discovered “me… so, it was back to real estate, for me. Too bad... there aren't that many Hollywood agents, here in Sierra Vista, Arizona!
I may wear a “Bedazzled” eye patch, as a fashion accessory, in the future.
Fortunately, my cornea healed, but, so far, that eyeball is very light-sensitive.
I had the option of taking the course on-line, so I chose that method.
Well…
· Have you tried sitting in front of a computer monitor for dozens of hours, with one eye?
· How about when the covered eye burns like hell, with tears dripping out from the eye patch?
· Physically, focusing on the printed words is difficult.
· Mentally, focusing on the content is difficult.
· My eye hurt, probably an eight, on the pain scale, from one to ten.
Then, sadly, I realized that I was running out of time. I had to complete the course, or forfeit the (considerable) fee.
I couldn’t take painkillers or drink a few beers, because I had to be sharp for the material.
It was time to stop feeling sorry for myself… to “MAN-UP!”
So, figuratively “tying one eye behind my back,” I sat there, crying like a wuss, until I was finished. My scores, for all quizzes, and the final exam, averaged 99%. I guess that’s an “A.”
Now that I have my nice, shiny, new, CIAS designation, I’m pretty proud of myself.
The next step is to get out there and use my new skills.
That last step is a heck of a lot harder than all the crying.
Do you know what I mean?
