A Shortcut to Vintage Franklin, NC

Sometimes the buyers drive when we look at property. If they are from out of town, they really find it helpful to get familiar with an area. I’m always prepared with a map or directions to the listings. Sometimes the buyers have some sort of GPS or other navigation system in their vehicle and between the directions, maps and navigation systems…we always find our way to the listings.

While in Franklin the other day with buyers looking for vacant land, the buyer thought he knew a “shortcut”. The “shortcut” added about 20 minutes to our showings but on the upside, we passed this incredibly cool, vintage scene. It was amazingly simple to block out everything modern and imagine ourselves in a different time.

Sometimes the long way becomes a new way to discover something new... and in this case vintage. We normally drive our buyers mostly because they do not know the area. When we are at the level of 2nd showings, we suggest they meet us there and also explore the neighborhood on their own at different times of day. Love the tractor. I bet is was made in America!

Emily, that's a great suggestion for second showings.  I'll bet the tractor was made in America too.

Roger, well if he'd love the tractor, I hope he stops by too.  This was a well worth it 20 minutes delay.

Wayne, luckily I don't get carsick because this delay was sort of twisty and turny.  The other MoonDancer Realty partner - Leslie would never have survived, lol.

Mona: now that is one cool picture! I take the back-ways on purpose whenever I can. Although it takes longer to arrive at my destination, it's a much more scenic drive. With less traffic it is a lot more peaceful, giving me time to think about "stuff". The chances of running into photo-opps such as yours are also much higher .. that alone is worth it.

Settle down Allen, you might be using too many words!  Isn't it time for you to come visit soon?

Andrea, when I have time I really like taking alternate routes.  It makes me crazy to think how many great shots I pass up when I'm in a hurry.

Sheila, we love antique shops and wish there was a place to keep everything that appeals to us.  I'm sure the shopkeeper feels the same way.

Suzanne, glad you enjoyed it...having the chance to get the photo was a day brightener for me.
