We’ve been seeing a lovely weather in Greenville in the past few days and I’m sure a lot of you are enjoying it. There are a lot of people going to the park to have fun or simply enjoy the weather. Speaking of parks, did you guys hear that Greenville Downtown Airport is planning to build an aviation park? That sounds cool! It’s going to be a cool attraction for sure.
I saw the design and it looks great, they’re building a taxiway for people to use for exercising, they will also have an amphitheatre for viewing the real runway in action, there will be a picnic pavilion and more! It will be educational, it’s one of the objective of the GMU. They say they want to provide a place for youth to enjoy and learn about aviation because fewer kids want to become pilots nowadays and that’s becoming a problem in the aviation industry.
Unlike other runway parks present, this park is going to be open to the public, free admission. So it’s going to drive traffic for sure once it’s done. It’s something to watch out. They are accepting donations, so anyone who would like to contribute is very welcome, let’s help build this project!
