City Creek Center is located downtown Salt Lake City, adjacent to the LDS temple, 15 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport   Its the hope of Salt Lake and the LDS church that the massive shopping center will revitalize the downtown area.

Salt Lake's Pride and Joy

It is currently one of the nation's largest mixed-use redevelopment projects.

Estimated at 23 acres.

5,000 parking spots

Retractable glass roof  ( 250' long x 60' wide)

Creek that runs through the property

Pond outside of Macy's with live fish

Two 18ft tall waterfalls Fountains with music

Pedestrian skybridge

90+ stores and restaurants

1000 seats inside the large food court

Indoor play area for kids

It has been reported that the LDS church is one of the largest investors.  It is estimated that the church invested over 1 billion dollars into the City Creek Center located in the heart of their global headquarters. Temple Square   The large anchors and draw to city creek center are Macy's, Nordstroms and the Mormon church just to name a few.  It is currently the only mall scheduled to open in 2012.

As everyone celebrates City Creek Centers grand opening, I sit and wonder what will happen to Trolley Square and the Gateway all located downtown?  Will they survive this massive shopping center? Will I be visiting City Creek Center?  I doubt it.  I am centrally located between two other great malls  Fashion Place Mall (Murray Utah)  and South Towne Center/ Mall  (Sandy Utah).  Pretty much the same stores, I think I'll be heading there next time I need something new.  I bet the crowds will be small and I will probably find all the newest fashions, in my size!  So go ahead everyone else head down to City Creek Center.......

City Creek Center is located at 50 South Main Street, Salt Lake City

I love these "relocating to" series.  They are great resources for people look to move to a particular area.
