Dauphin Island, AL
Dauphin Island is a 14 mile barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico, located 33 miles south of the City of Mobile, Alabama. The island is the only one of its kind off the Alabama Gulf Coast and accessible via a 3.2 mile bridge that connects the island to mainland Mobile. Visitors can also arrive by auto-passenger ferry, which runs daily from the tip of the Fort Morgan Peninsula across Mobile Bay to Dauphin Island. Once the island, visitors are able to relax in a more secluded gulf beach destination, free from the crowds that flock to traditional vacation destinations, like the Florida Panhandle or the Orange Beach.
