HI! I wanted to put this information out there for you, or someone you know who is looking to buy or build a home. Hopefully it will open doors and help.
Often when someone is considering purchasing a home the last thought is choosing a REALTOR. This should be one of the first things a consumer should do. Getting pre-qualified or pre-approved for a loan is next.
* Interview agents, not all agents work the same. Make sure you are comfortable with the agent and that you feel that they have a clear understanding of your goals, expectations and needs. It's important to know that there is an open line of communication between you and the REALTOR, and that they work FOR and WITH you.
* THERE IS NO COST TO YOU TO CHOOSE A REALTOR® TO REPRESENT YOU - and to look out for your best interests..... A good agent will help you avoid common pitfalls, make wise home investment decisions, and bring order to the entire buying process.
* By definition, your agent is someone who will represent your interests. There are a handful of laws governing agency relationships that have been designed to help you feel safe with your decision. These laws differ from state to state, and agency policies differ among real estate companies.
* Your REALTOR and your lender are key factors in your success of purchasing a home and having a smooth transacton. Buying a home is all about you. What you need. What you want in the house you'll call home sweet home. So naturally the buying process should be all about you, too. That's why working with a REALTOR is such a good idea - we do all the work, and it puts the focus on what's important to you.
* Check any designations a REALTOR holds-example, ABR is an Accredited Buyer Representative. That means that the agent has specialized training in working exclusively for the buyer in a transaction. Go to the REALTOR.ORG website and snoop around... you can gain helpful information there on the designations or code of ethics that a REALTOR follows.
These are just a few factors that are involved. Please call with questions. Keep sight of the intentions of searching for a REALTOR, and for a home. CHOOSING THE RIGHT REALTOR IS AS IMPORTANT AS CHOOSING THE PERFECT HOME.
Best Wishes for you and your family................
