Speechless Sunday-Go Ahead Try and Take My Fish

Osrpey With Fish-Belmont Bay March 2012

Living bordered by the Occoquan River and the Occoquan National Wildlife Refuge has it's advantages.  In the Spring watching the Osprey build their nests and fish is a amazing treat.   A few days ago one of the local nesting pairs stopped to eat their recent catch just outside my window.  At one point it looked as if the Osprey gave me the eye as if to say....go ahead and try to get my fish!

Joanna-this tree is almost eye level with my condo so I'm fortunate to be able to catch the Osprey close by.

Hi Cindy - Great photo! Our lake is a popular fishing spot for the local Osprey - they usually show up in the late afternoon/early evening and it's a real treat to watch them dive, although Mary gets mad that they're competing for her fish. And we have a couple of nests in the area that are fun to watch.

Fantastic picture and I'm so glad you had your camera at hand so you could share it with us.  Nature is totally amazing.  I'm currently enjoying/addicted to watching the Decorah Eagles webcam.  The pair had 3 eggs and yesterday 1 finally broke out of its shell and today #2 is making its appearance.  It is truly addictive and now I'll be worrying about the high winds and them falling out of the nest.
