Speechless Sunday at some of my favorite places

These pictures are some of my favorite places. The 1st one is the Alamo and it is in the great city of San Antonio, Texas. I have been fortunate enough to travel to many places but of all my favorite places there is none like my hometown of San Antonio, Texas. I think most of us have special feelings about our hometown.

The next one is of The National Monument in Washington DC how can you not be proud of our nation’s Capital.

The rest of some of my favorites are more representative of the area or country they are in.

I think what I like most about traveling is meeting new people, trying new foods and getting to know the local culture. If we would all take more time to know each other and respect each other there would be more peace in the world.

Yolanda,

Wonderful set of pictures from all around the world. The actual travel to get to all these neat destination via plane is such a pain these days but once you get there the fun begins. So why don't rank your favorite places to travel to after home town San Antonio.. ?

Yolanda - I fully understand your fondness for getting to know the people and food in various parts of the globe.  I haven't traveled as extensively as you have, but in the past, I have been fortunate enough to work at an international software development company for 8 years.  Everyday was like traveling the globe, because my department was made up of people from India, Pakistan, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Transylvania, Ukraine, Japan, Lebanon, Spain, Italy.  You name the country, and it was likely represented by an employee at our company.  We often celebrated cultural days, where there was entertainment and food from various parts of the globe.   We had one Irishman from Chicago, who was always a real kick in the pants.  And boy could he cook!  I enjoyed those days so much!
