In case you have been living under a rock and don't understand what a short sale it, it is a property listed for sale at a price less than what the homeowner owes to their mortgage lender for the property.
Short sales have been a significant part of our local real estate market as a result of the housing bubble we saw here between 2005 and 2008. They can be more complicated than a traditional equity sale because the seller's lender has to approve the short sale.
