Getting to know Arlington, TX -- Arlington was founded in 1876 then incorporated in April 21, 1884. Arlington is a little less than 100 square miles of sprawling land. The median age in Arlington is 30.9 years young. That lets you know we’re a city that is young at heart! Arlington offers prodigious retail around the Parks Mall, and a myriad of retail stores occupy space in the mall which houses AMC multi-screen movie theatre, in addition to the Parks Mall Ice Skating Rink. In mid-2007 the Arlington Highlands was completed, serving as the new posh and fashionable spot, with places such as Dave andBusters, Studio Movie Grill, BJ's Piranha Killer Sushi, Brewhouse, The Improv Theatre, Blackfinn, Plucker's, and World Market, among others. You can locate the Parks Mall along with The Arlington Highlands between Matlock and Cooper, facing the south side of interstate 20. These are two locations you definitely want to take some time to hang out for the day.
You will not want to miss Arlington’s 4th of July Parade. It’s hosted by the Arlington’s 4th of July Parade Association. They put on this annual parade through Downtown, Arlington. Local schools, business and organizations feature their finest floats in the parade. Come out and join us in support of 4th of July and all of Arlington!
