Alliance Title Closes Operations in California - Due To Slow Housing Market

The slow down in the real estate industry is evident with title companies consolidating offices and now Alliance Title Company in California has shut down operations.  The Elk Grove building that one of my office is in had an Alliance Title Company's office, but it closed down a couple of months ago.  It was no surprise because the closings in the area were very small compared to what the market used to be a few years ago.  It is a sign of the times we live in.  The real estate market is at a all time low, but it is a great opportunity for investors and buyers.  The Alliance Title reps and escrow officers who worked in the Elk Grove office were great people who provided great service.  I wish them all well!

Our title companys no longer have receptionists and office support.  The title closers are  answering their own and running the whole office because it's so slow.

Chris, I think it is happening all around.  Times are tough in many of the local real estate markets, but some areas are still going through the roof.  Everyone has to adjust to the current market to get through it.  If it does not kill us, it will make us stronger.

Charles, thanks for letting me you got something from me here in AR...LOL  I thought you invented all of this.  jk, but I do appreciate the encouragement!  Merry Christmas to you too!  :)

Been there, Done that...
These are tough times.  It is good of you to recognize and support these people.  Alliance Title closing its doors in our area was a big blow.

Beth, you are right it is tough times in many parts of California.  There are a lot of good people affected by the real estate down turn.  I believe Financial Title will be absorbing some of these offices and people.  We are near the bottom of the market now and things will be changing this new year.  Take care!

Ernie,

It looks like some in southern CA are just reducing their staff but not closing shop. It is sad to see that happen but sometimes they have to do what is needed. Moving on and let's hope for the best.

Alliance Title used to be across the hall from me on J Street. They moved to the Pocket temporarily, and its rep was in my office a few days before the announcement hit, so I don't believe many of its employees knew of its impending doom. Now my escrow officer is at Fidelity, and I have to drive all the way to the Pocket --  15 minutes out of my way -- to close escrows. But hey, she's worth it.

Dave, it is good that they are doing better there in Southern Cali!  I do hope them the best, I am sure they will find good places to work!  The market here in the Sacramento Region is starting to heat up.  I really think this January, people will jump back into the market.  This is one of my busiest December in a long time.  Take care!

Elizabeth, I don't think they did know until it happened.  My Elk Grove office in the Liberty II building on East Stockton had Alliance Title on the second floor.  They were great, but they had told us that they did not know they could keep going with the level of closing they were having.  That office closed their doors a month before the main announcement of all of Alliance Title closing.  I don't think they landed anywhere yet.  I am glad for your escrow rep who found a new office.  In Elk Grove 4 title companies closed their doors the last few months.  Thanks for coming by and commenting!

We have a lot of other title companies. So one more or one less will not make a difference. I hope, they still serve the clients who chose them before they moved out.

Market are continuously change from slow to fast and back to slow.
