No Time Like Spring for Golfing in Texas
Just as many of the top world players are looking forward to the Masters PGA Tournament in Augusta, GA next month, so are many other golf professionals looking to be in Texas for the 90th Birthday Celebration for the Valero Texas Open in April too. This fantastic PGA event will be at the AT&T Oaks Course at the TPC San Antonio, TX on April 16 - 22, 2012.
The 72-hole, Four-Day Official PGA TOUR event is sponsored by the Valero Energy Corporation. Tickets are on Sale now, and fans can purchase the 90th Birthday Special for only $90 up until March 30, 2012, or while supplies last. This Special Packet includes 4 Good Any One Day tickets, 1 Sponsor Parking Pass and a $20 Best Buy gift card (over 23% savings).
Brendan Steele is the Defending Champion, and other notable young golfers are Jhonattan Vegas, Johnson Wagner, and 2012 Q-School graduate, John Huh, who is putting himself in the running for the 2012 Rookie of the Year with his stellar play early this year. Huh has made the cut in all six tournaments he has entered and has posted 2 Top-10’s; including his victory at the Mayakoba Golf Classic.
A strong group of veterans will be in San Antonio to challenge the young upstarts, led by three-time Valero Texas Open champion Justin Leonard. By winning at the 2012 Valero Texas Open, Leonard would become the tournament’s only four-time champion. He is currently tied with Arnold Palmer, who won the Valero Texas Open in three consecutive years (1960-1962).
Joining Leonard are three well-known TOUR veterans who have not been seen in San Antonio for some time, led by two-time US Open champion Retief Goosen. The South African native is a seven-time winner on the PGA TOUR and has made six consecutive appearances as a member of the International Presidents Cup Team. Goosen will be joined by another major winner, 2003 British Open Champion and 2003 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year Ben Curtis.
Eight time PGA TOUR winner and Australian native Stuart Appleby will be making his first appearance at TPC San Antonio to test his skills against the course designed by fellow Australian Greg Norman.

Your are very Welcome, Carl and Ceil. One day I hope to see Tiger playing in the Valero Texas Open, or even having Phil Mikelson here would be great too. I know he will be in Houston for the Shell Open next week.
LOL, Kevin. That's why I play 18 holes with a team of 4 at these charity events. I would never finish on time if I was playing alone.
Hi Jerry, I took it up last year, have sponsered a tournamet for about 5 so I figured might as well play. We have one in conjunction for Military Appreciation on the 11th of May and we are only what 5 hours away if you and three friends would like to come and enjoy a day of Golf.
Gary so many appreciate a game of golf. I hope you have a great season playing.
Hi Charles, That golf tournament in conjunction with Military Appreciation Week is right on time. I will have to let you know if I can come your way in May for that event.
Hi Jennifer, I think I will need some more lessons with this game of golf. It is fun to be out there this time of the year playing golf.
