We've all heard it before. First impressions are very important. Why do people not take the time to really showcase their home and make it stand out form the rest. I met this great couple approximately a month or so ago and we discussed our plan to sell their home. There were some small things that need to be taken care of before the house could be seen and shown.
Most of these items were small items that needed to be done in order for the home to give a great first impression. The price was right for the location, time of year and for the home itself. They took the time to clean up the home, repair the small items, do a bit of painting, modernize the home, fix some windows and a whole bunch of small things. De-cluttering was also on their list of things to do before selling. It took them a little over a month but it was worth it. The home stager also came by to give them a few more ideas on how to make the home sparkle.
The big day came to sell. The professional photographer came in last Friday, took all the nice pictures and also created the virtual tour. WOW, did it ever look good. Over the weekend we got ready and finally on Monday, after a few weeks of hard work the house hit the mls system at approximately 11:00am. We had our first showing scheduled for 1:00pm. Then a second showing was booked for 5:00pm that same afternoon and the third one was booked for the following day.
The offer came in at 6:00pm - I then met the clients and we went over the offer together. It was a good offer and we ended up accepting the offer. Was it worth spending the time to get the house ready? Comment below.
