Pre-war building Manhattan New York (Photos)

By
Real Estate Agent with Douglas Elliman Real Estate

New York is an old city, besides the glass skyscrappers that are modern and sleek, part of New York architectures are some of these beautiful pre-war buildings. Whenever I see the well maintained and restored prewar buildings, I always feel so romantic. Below are two photos that I captured on my phone today.

For those of you that not sure what Pre-war building is, here is the definition. Pre-War Buildings Prewar buildings are those built before World War II. These buildings are usually ten to twenty stories, provide spacious apartment lay-outs, gracious architectural amenities with features such as larger rooms, fireplaces, hardwood parquet floors and higher ceilings.

Sounds like some of those pre-war buildings in New York are beautiful Eileen!  The outside certainly does.  Have you ever sold/rented an apartment to someone in one of these?

Those pre-war buildings are practically impossible to build now, definitely a big reason why people are attracted to them.

Hi Brenda, yes we have sold and leased units in pre-war buildings. Those units have a lot of charm and characteristics for sure.

Well they look pretty awesome (and thanks for the definition). Those buildings have such character on the outside.

Christine, dare I say that they don't make them like that anymore? It would cost a huge fortune to recreate the craftsmanship displayed you your photos. Thanks for sharing!
