I grew up in the Gig Harbor area and I have spent a lot of time in Canterwood over the years. If you are interested in buying a home in Canterwood for the community, clubhouse, the golf course, the stocked trout pond, location, etc.... it is a good call.
The great thing about buying a home in Canterwood is that Canterwood has so much to offer within its gated community, but, also, the surrounding area has a lot to offer with nearby Gig Harbor City Center, the Puget Sound, the Olympic Peninsula, and the list goes on and on and on.... Living in this area gives you and your family a very high quality of life that you would only hope for your family.
The Peninsula school district is held at high standards; the teachers at all the district schools are the type of teachers that want to make a difference. Athletics and the Arts are both strong, as well. It is a safe area, but not so sheltered that those in the area have an elitist disconnected sense of reality. Needless to say, a lot of the folks I grew up with in Gig Harbor are still living in the area; raising their family and giving their children the upbringing that we all enjoyed so much.
