Believe it or not Spring is really coming to North Idaho! My daffodils and other perennials are up and growing here in Post Falls, Idaho. So there is no better time then right now to make your spring cleaning list with actual dates to accomplish these chores. Our homes are usually one of the largest investments that we have so we need to maintain and protect our investment.
With so many people struggling, a good idea would be to start with going through our closets, reorganize and clean, then take all of the clothes that are not being used to your local Thrift Store. Then go through the basement and garage and do the same thing with un-used items.
Other things to consider as you start to get your home spruced up would be:
Vacuum baseboards, walls and clean ceiling fans.
Reseal natural stone surfaces (like travertine, etc).
Reseal and repair grout in bathtubs and showers.
Clean and rub down all cabinets.
Remove items from inside of cabinets and closets, reorganize and clean shelves.
Clean all window treatments and blinds.
Oil hinges.
Clean refrigerator and freezer coils
Go through the items in your refigerator and check for "good by" dates
Clean dryer vent and dryer hose.
Clean out gutters so our spring rain has somewhere to go.
Clean outdoor furniture and outside light fixtures.
Power wash porch floors, deck, patio, driveway and sidewalks
Check roof for loose shingles after the winter storms.
Clean yard of all winter debris.
Clean flower beds of dead plant material and prepare for spring flowers (yay!).
Now that you have a handle on spring cleaning; you should be thinking about selling your home. You are ready to go.
