2012 Federal Budget

The federal government released its budget on March 29, 2012.  There are quite a few changes that have been announced.  The Finance Department has a budget website that contains the full text of the 2012 federal budget.

Make sure that you understand how the budget will affect you.

English and French versions are available at www.budget.gc.ca/2012.

Many newspapers, accounting firms, law firms and other organizations have provided analysis of various components of the budget as well.

It's pretty strange to have a Federal budget so quickly aftyer the Provincial one Marc. I'm sure that a lot of people have been confused by them being so close together.

Hi Malcolm - Usually the Ontario and federal budgets are a bit further apart.  Most of the provinces and territories tend to release their budgets over the space of a couple of months around this time of year.

Hi Charles - This post relates to the federal budget released by the Canadian government.  We do not have a Congress in Canada, Congress is in the USA.  The budget will be passing into law in the near future because there is a majority government in Canada.
