Are you a REALATOR???

By
Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty

okay, I'm gonna rant a little. I can't help it!

Jay and I spent the last two days doing bank owned showing marathons...cold houses, un-shoveled walkways never mind un-plowed driveways.

I always have mixed emotions when showing foreclosed homes... the houses just feel so sad. But thats not what my rant is about....Nope!

One house had signs all over it. The house has had showings...many of them and the listing agent has been in and out of the house.

How embarrassing!

I couldn't believe my eyes so I had to take a picture of it!

One of my biggest pet peeves is the mispronunciation of the word REALTOR.

It is REAL TOR and not REAL A TOR or REAL AH TAH...it simply drives me crazy to hear it pronounced wrong...but I nearly freaked when I saw this!

LOL Nick...I like being a rebel!!!

Dale...Well thank you so much for finding me. You're probably right but how many times do you think the listing agent looked at those signs????

We're running out of room for all this snow. I think we have about 2 feet on the ground.

Team DiMuria....The Dumbing down of America is right!!

Kim...LOL you did?? OMG how funny. I usually stress the right way to say it in all my classes...maybe I should add how to spell it.... as well.

Realator has to be some form of robot. Sounds like a great idea for a Seller trying to economize.

I hope you are sitting down. I went to Google images and put in the spelling and it repeated the spelling under every image.

DUH!

Guys, just relax and laugh. It is not even a laugh, but this is nothing more than a misspelling, so just because the sacred word is misspelled, so much ado?

Would you have paid any attention if the word "thermostat" was spelled wrong?

Cynthia...Yeah...it was pretty pitiful looking.

Jon...It was pretty funny in an embarrassing way, simple misspelling or not.  I probably would have laughed over Thermostat as well..since there were so many signs up all over the house.

You're right, showing foreclosures is no fun at all!  'Haven't done so in years, but we're gonna see more around here, I think, in 2008.

You little sign speaks volumes!

MONIKA,

IGNORANCE IS BLISS AS THE SAYING GOES.  IF THE AGENT PUT THIS IN THE HOUSE - SHAME ON THE AGENT! IF THE BANK PUT IT IN THE HOUSE - I DON'T THINK I WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO SPELL OR PRONOUNCE REALTOR!

WINTERIZED IS A COMMON TERMS IN AREAS WHERE HOMES ARE CLOSED UP FOR THE WINTER.  WE USE IT ALL THE TIME IN OUR AREA BECAUSE SO MANY OF OUR HOMES ARE SUMMER HOMES ONLY.

One of my bigest pet peeves is spelling.  I hate when someone mispells a word.  Especially when a place of business uses mispelled words.  It's called spell check and it's called editing.  Realtor is commonly mispelled, and even by agents.  Makes you wonder sometimes huh?

It drives me crazy too.  Most of the time I hear it from realtors themselves!! Why the heck does everyone think there is an A in realtor?
