As a broker I'm curious how you differ than the other brokers. I too am looking for agents but with my virtual office set-up its difficult to recruit. All my best to you and your company.
I was an agent for 9 years with a traditional real estate company and whatever I didn't like there (and other agents) I tried to change in my own company. Agents are independent contractors and should be treated as such. I receive feedback from leads given to my agents. They too work from home. We have office meetings 2 x per mo. I help motivate them in a positive manner. There is no floor time and all leads go to the listing agent. I try to differ myself because other brokers are set in a certain mindset and don't move with the times. There is money to be made out there. Regardless of the market. You just have to be more flexible and be creative.
Recruiting is tough. I network quite a bit and go to board functions. Ads really don't help that much. It's striking up a conversation with an agent that is not happy at the right time. It's a lot of work but in the long run it will pay off. Another thing I do is talk to previous agents I have had deals with. They already know how I work by putting a deal together with me. It's not a cold lead...much easier.
Good luck to you and if you have any tips....please share!
