Buying Newly Built Homes on the West Bank of New Orleans

By

The New Orleans area has a national reputation for our historic architecture and old, established neighborhoods.  BUT, not new constructioneveryone wants a resale home and buying a newly built home has some perks as well.  In Louisiana, all builders are required by law to provide a one year warranty on the property.  Additionally, many builders are offering assistance to the purchaser with closing costs or are providing discounts on upgrades.

Where can you find new construction on the West Bank?

There are currently 124 newly constructed homes for sale on the West Bank, from Algiers to Waggaman, from the starter home to luxurious, top of the line new homes in prestigious, gated communities.

Lisa, I didn't realize there was so much new construction in your area, I'm very glad to hear that.  This is a wonderful post, I'm sure there are many people that didn't know as well--and they're so affordable!

Carole, new construction is actually a very small percentage of sales in my area compared to the resales on the market.  It's all about what the buyer is looking for though.  Some want to personalize an existing home and some just want a brand new house.  They are certainly affordable though, aren't they?  We are lucky to have the prices we do here.
