Here is a weather quiz from Santa Fe. Why is there no snow in my driveway? What a difference weather can make on expectations, plans and real estate. Here is what happened. Yesterday, it began to snow in Santa Fe following a day of nearly 81 degrees. It was a very unexpected wet heavy snow. It was still snowing at 10 PM last night when I brushed the snow off my about to be lilac blossoms to save their delicate branches. I woke up early this morning to clear my car and driveway for another real estate adventure. To my surprise, I discovered this scene waiting for me. Why do you think there is no snow in my driveway or on my dirt road this morning? Let’s see if you have any ideas? Here is a clue. I did not clear the driveway. I will be back after our Santa Fe Properties office meeting with the answer. In the meantime, go for it!

Emily my guess would be that if the temperature was in the 80's the day before, the ground was most likely still to warm for it to stick.

George, you are absolutely right! The trees were not as warm as my gravel driveway and dirt road. Instead of an snow packed road, I had mud!

Emily, snow did not have a chance to remain on the drive or roads, as they were too warm from the previous days of warm weather!

Joan, this winter, spring, winter, spring has been beyond confusing. You are right about the temperature.
