By
Industry Observer

If you live in Burnsville and have been thinking about adding extra space to your present home, the City is offering some help in the form of rebates on the price of building permits and site review fees.  According to a press release from the city, "The rebate program began in early 2012 and is applicable to any building project that increases the livable square footage of a single-family, two-family or townhome dwelling in Burnsville. Rebates are available for room and second-story additions as well as full-home demolition and rebuilds. The rebate does not apply for decks, garages, accessory structures, interior projects or cantilevers."

This rebate applies only to projects that add additional living space including complete demolition and rebuilds.  For more information, contact the Burnsville Building Inspections Department at 952-895-4444.  For information about trading in your old house for a new one, call me.

Mike, it makes sense for th city to do this.  They will make it back in the increase of taxes.
