DFW Storms and Tornadoes - Welcome to Crazy April Weather!

If you're new to the Dallas/Fort Worth area...allow me to welcome you to your little space in Tornado Alley!

Today, April 3, 2012, DFW experienced several tornadoes. Even as I'm blogging this, there are STILL storms in the area with possibly more on the way.

Prayers go out to all that have been affected by the storms. Touch downs in Arlington, Greenville, Forney and a few other cities in the entire DFW metroplex have caused damage. No word on any casualties just yet.

For those of you who don't know what to do when those sirens go off, make sure to do the following:

-Go to the central most room in your home, preferably with no windows.

-Grab a mattress, heavy blankets or pillows to cover yourself.

-Make sure you take care of the pets too!

-There are no basements (usually), so many times closets are the safest place to be along with bathrooms.

Kim, oh boy, this sounds like you had a rough day. Think of me when in the late summer/fall you hear us Floridians evacuate for Hurricanes again ... crazy weather! It is kind of scary when you have a tornado or hurricane plan that you don't even have to think about anymore because you need it so often!

Kim-That was some display of power Mother Nature put on yesterday. I had never seen semis thrown around like that. Amazing with the amount of damage the number of people seriously injured was so low.

Texas has crazy weather all the time. Its funny how it can be hot one day and then freezing the next day, then wind/hail to sunny over a 30 minute span.
