Spring is officially here! Not only are you seeing the signs of Spring with the daffodils and flowering trees blooming, but you definitely see an increase in the number of open houses on the weekend. Open houses can be a positive - and some say, vital - part of marketing a home for sale.
When I first began my real estate career, I will admit, I thought (and sometimes, occasionally do) that open houses are ineffective. But, as a proceeded in my career I found out not only be effective but I found out I can actually sell homes!
I think that holding and effective open house begins with two critical items:
1) Having the mindset of where, first and foremost, to sell the property I am hosting
2) Necessary preparation
Without these two items, I notice that my open houses, unfortunately, sometimes suffer. Although the agent is ultimately the only person that control the first item, I feel that both the real estate agent, and even the homeowner, should complete various in the preparation to make sure the open house is effective as possible. So, I put together a quick little video to discuss the effectiveness of open houses in the Greater Morristown, New Jersey area and things all participants can do to to have a successful sale during the open house. (Note: This was my first video! I am sorry about the quality of the video but I have figured out how to make it a lot better! You will see in future videos - promise!)
I would love to hear any comments from you! Do you think open houses are effective marketing strategy? Do you have any suggestions on how to increase the odds of having a successful open house?
