Harahan Real Estate- Harahan is a small city that is primarily a residential area between Elmwood Industrial Park and the Mississippi River. Most of the homes will be older with the exception of the higher price ranges. Harahan is about 10,000 residents with its own mayor, police chief and city council. The location makes it an easy commute to Uptown New Orleans, Downtown, and the New Orleans Airport which are 20 minutes away. The are is known for its high ground and the amount of trees that dot the neighborhoods.

You will find a brief outline of the major subdivisions below but there are many other areas that were here before subdivisions become popular. Almost all the homes are custom built homes with no builder developments. You will find a range of very good public and private schools in the area. The tax rates are very low, crime is very very low, and many people have lived in the area for years thus having much less turnover than other areas of town.
