OK - We're doing the usual things - Checking our shopping lists and making those last minute trips to the store for tape and wrapping paper - Wondering (as the "shipping days" wane to get things to their destinations in time for the big day)if we actually did it - When will we discover the gift we forgot?
Meanwhile - At the office - The energy is buzzing. For some folks, it's just the ending of another month. For others, it is time to pause and reflect and enjoy a few days of respite. We decided to shut the place down for 5 days . . . All of us are thankful for another great year . . . The best year we have yet to see in our office.
A meeting with our Regional Cheifs confirmed that we are doing lot of thing "right" . . . As far as we know, we are simply doing what we should be doing to continue to grow the businesses of our associates . . . nothing more . . . We are supporting our village.
We embark on our winter journey in a few days - It is our annual trek from Nashville to Denver . . . Always an adventure . . . Often driving through a driving snow and wondering if we can make it through before the highway department decides to shut down the highway. So far so good (knock on wood) . . . 8 years of making the trip and not yet finding ourselves stranded.
If you're in the Denver - Aurora area and want to connect, we'll be there for a week :-)
Even with all of the above, I'm still grasping for the Christmas Spirit - I think it has eluded me because I have been fully consumed by the completion of this rigorous training cycle - For some odd reason, I booked my schedule solid until the moment we leave Nashville. I think we'll need to sing some Christmas Carols in the car on Friday Morn.
This year, the "special days" (Christmas and New Years) fall such that there is a WHOLE week in between . . . This is a rare gift - I imagine we'll take full advantage of it - I hope it SNOWS 3 feet on the last day of January . . . We'll build some real estate - Houses and forts etc . . . And I might find a good amount of time to prep myself for the surge of business activity I am planning to launch on January 7.
Oh BOY! LOOK OUT WORLD! We are SO excited about the possibilities the new year is bringing . . . All we need to do is a tad more FOCUS to be sure we do the right things first . . . All I know for sure is that the break will very good for the soul.
I will blog as I can while we're gone. We're staying in Kansas City on Friday evening (Anyone reading this live in KC?) We'll be downtown (Poolside) by 4 PM and would love to connect. . . . And we have computer and phone access the whole time we're in Denver . . . I'll write any time the muse visits :-)
I wish you the best and safe travels if you're traveling.
