Evelyn- earthquakes scare me more than hurricanes.  That said...it's a good idea to take these classes just to be prepared.

Mark, Did you have to remind me?  It has been a warm dry winter, I think we will likely have a very warm summer.

Evelyn, have not thought about this topic too much because I live in the Northeast-HOWEVER, we actually got one in 2011 and, we've had tornadoes.  So, with climate and ecological change comes geological surprises.

Sorry to all who commented.  My email is acting up and I didn't receive notice about your comments.  Thanks to you all.

Sara:  It is a very good program.  And it is Free.

Kathy:  The classes are held all over the US and other places.  Each class covers preparedness for all disasters which include hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires, etc.

Kathy:  Yes, each place has it's own problems.  Everyone should be prepared.

Mark:  You said it.  There are CERT groups in the South which can help you prepare.  Google them.

Anna:  I am a member of the CERT executive committee and feel it is my duty to get the word out.  We should all be prepared.

Sara:  If you are not prepared, please give your local disaster preparedness office a call and take some classes.  Always a good thing to do.

Joanna:  Any natural disaster injuries can be mitigated by being prepared, even if it is only BY having a kit and learning CPR.
