The subdivision of Glen Allan is located in the center of Sherwood Park, right next to the Sherwood Park Mall. Since the lots in this subdivision are generally large and the landscaping mature, this is a much sought after area of Sherwood Park. Homes here were built mainly between 1970 and 1989. This subdivision is made up of mostly single family homes, but it also includes 2 condo complexes. Both complexes are adult only and made up of bungalow condominiums.

Both Glen Allan Elementary and Wes Hosford are part of the Elk Island Public School system. Most children living in this subdivision of Sherwood park would attend F.R. Haythorne Junior High or Clover Bar Junior High. High school attendance would usually be at Bev Facey High School or Salisbury Composite High School.

Catholic School System

Jean Vanier Elementary School is Elk Island Catholic School's elementary and junior high school for the area, including grades K to 9. Archbishop Jordan Catholic High School is the high school for the area.

Glen Allan Recreation Centre, Sherwood Park

Recreation Facilities:

The Glen Allan Recreation Centre (GARC) is also located on the edge of Glen Allan. This complex houses a fitness centre, squash and racquetball courts, a skating arena and curling ice. The facility offers a wide range of classes as well. A schedule is available for GARC online.

Glen Allan is close to a grocery store, other shops, restaurants and the public library, many within walking distance.
